Mac OS X Leopard World Premier

Wow! New Mac OS X "Leopard" has its world premier grand opening today at 6 PM. Park & I go the Apple store in Walnut street. There is a very long line (about 100 persons in the line). I wait for 1 hour until I get a free T-shirt (Yes!). After taking a look at Leopard for a while, I realize that I still have a Vista machine I just bought, so I can't buy it now. :-(

My Jack O'Lantern

It's Haloween. Yes! It's coming. So, today I create my own Jack O'Lantern from a pumpkin bought from Strip district (an Asian grocery store area in Pittsburgh). I think he's pretty cute rather than scary. -_-"

New wallpaper

Here is my new wallpaper! Wow! Looks really good & elegant (like from Apple corp. :D).

The letters 'C' and 'R' are my initial. They are from my real name: Chaiyong Ragkhitwetsagul.

What your letters stand for?

Have you ever spell your name via a phone call? Sometimes you have to make sure that the letter you're spelling is heard correctly, you have to use some words which related to it. I always face hard situations while I have to find an example for a letter immediately. I've ever used "Holy" for 'H' (which is really inappropriate word. It should be something pretty simple like "Harry.") Then, I gathered lists of these letter-representative words from my experiences and some words were from my roommates. Let's see what are they!

A = Andy, Annie, Angel, Angelina, Argentina
B = Bob, Ben, Bible, British
C = Charlie, Charles, Chile, China
D = Dolly, Denis, Denmark
E = Ethan, Egg, England, Evan
F = F*ck (:D) --> should be 'Frank', France, Father
G = Gary, Grand(e), Golf, Goal
H = Harry, Heaven, Hillary, Holland
I = Isaac, Italy, Irvin
J = Julie, Japan, July, June
K = Katie, Kate, Korea
L = Lilly, Laos?, Lorry
M = Mac, Minny, Mickey, Manhattan
N = Nancy, North, Niagara
O = Orange, Oracle, Owen
P = Patrick, Pacific, Poland
Q = ? >> hard one. How about 'Quantum'?
R = Rose, Russia, Red, Ricky
S = Susan, Spain, Sweet, Sven
T = Tom, Tim, Todd, Ted, Thailand (:D)
U = Umbrella, Uncle, Ugly
V = Viagra !!! >> any word better than this?
W = Wine, Winny
X = Xerox, Xenon, Xenophobia
Y = Yellow, Yemen
Z = Zero, Zen

If anybody knows other words, please tell me more! :D

How lightsaber work!

One of my favorite movies is "STAR WARS!" Yes! why not! I always feel excited when I see a jedi uses his lightsaber to fight with hisvillains! I really love jedi, so do I really love his weapon, lightsaber.

Today, I find a topic from "howstuffwork.com" about the lightsaber. The topic is "how lightsaber works." Maybe this is just a joke, and it doesn't really happen (I think it hardly to be happen at present). The topic is about the mechanism inside the lightsaber. How the light comes out, what are the components which generates the laser, etc. These are really interesting!

I hope someday I would have a chance to try a real lightsaber. Can I use it with my professors? :D

Is this an Ent ??

Huu???!! What's that?!! I was wondering while I was cycling to Apple Store near my apartment. Is that Ent? (Ent is a character in The Lord of the Rings: Two Towers film. It's a tree which can walk and talk). This tree looks really like it has eyes, nose, and mouth!

It seems like the owner of the house of which the tree resides in front attached these stuffs to it. The materials are very realistic. I nearly fell off my bicycle when I saw it.

Can it talk? If 'yes', I'll be the first one to run away :P

Google - Pittsburgh

I think everyone who uses Internet surely knows "Google", the best search engine in the world.

Carnegie Mellon University is another campus of Google. It's called "Google Pittsburgh", and located in the CIC building.

The most interesting thing in Google pittsburgh office is a LCD projector screen in front of the office. It shows real-time queries from all around the world! You can see query in Chinese, Korean, German, or even Thai! Moreover, it's also very fun to see what other people are searching for. :D

Sleeping on the green grass

Since I came here I saw many American love sleeping on grass (especially in strong sunlight!) which is very different from Thailand. Maybe because Thailand is too hot to do like that. However, after I stayed here for a while, I found one reason for this. Grass fields here are very beautiful nearly every place. Americans take care their garden very well.

Now, I'm thinking about lying my back on green grass too !! zzzzzZZZZZ.....

How big is everything in the U.S!

Oh! (O_o) I found that many things in the U.S. are in bigger size than they are in Thailand. Especially this one, "chalk" in Carnegie Mellon University is very huge! From the picture, compare to the size of quarter coin, it's 4-5 times bigger! I'm curious how the teachers write on the blackboard using this chalk size. Its size is very close to the size of a big "UHU" glue in Thailand.

Another time I'll also show you the huge blackboard eraser!

The end of the trilogy: Resident Evil - Extinction

Finally, the day that I have been waiting for has come! Sept 21 is the release date of the last Resident Evil trilogy. The name of this episode is "Extinction."

[Following could be spoiled]
Synopsis:
Most of the people around the world are zombies. Only a few group of survivals are alive, and they wander around to find the remaining people, foods, and also find gas for their vehicles. Alice (Milla Jovovich) is in Nevada. The land that was very attractive in the past, known as Las Vegas. She meets other people who are survive and they have to try to find a place where is no zombie or T-virus to live.

Comment:
For me, the movie is very exciting and makes me startle all the time. Special effects and the action scenes is awesome. However, I think this movie deserve the rate "R" because there are many aggressive scenes.

4/5 for me :) It's a good movie for incoming Fall!

Happy Birthday Smiley !! :-D

Hey! 2 days ago is the birthday of SMILEY! :-D (sorry about my late response).

The inventor of smiley is Scott Fahlman. He invented it on Sept. 19, 1982. Scott Fahlman is a professor of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. Its original came from trying to express humorous in the message. Just from the tiny beginning, it became the most used sign in the cyberspace nowadays.

By the way, Happy birth day!!

Sleepiness, Homework, and VIRUS !!! Arrgghhhhh

At the night of Sept 20, it's nearly 2.00 AM now. I am very sleepy, but I can't go to sleep. Why? There is only one reason: I HAVE TO FINISH MY PRIVACY CLASS HOMEWORK !!! (its due is before 10 AM, Sept 20). I've done about half of them, I think (I just realized after that I am wrong -_-". I've done only 1/4 of them)

While I am doing my task, someone ping me via Live Messenger (former name is MSN). It's P'Pond, who is a Thai scholarship student at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. His message is "Pictures from my vacation" and send me .zip file (something like IMGxxx.zip). I remember that I asked him before about sending me his pictures at U of Mich. So, I immediately accept the file, unzip it with WinRAR, and then I see there is only one file call "www.photouploader.exe." With my full stupidness, I double-click at the file without any hesitation. I think it should be a stand-alone presentation file (how stupid I am!). Then, BOOM!! my messenger starts opening all of my contacts who are online, and starts sending them the same file I received. At that moment, OH MY GOD!! I've just known it is VIRUS !! I tried to kill the messenger process with Task Manager. After trying for about 30 secs (and sending file to about 10 people), I eventually can close the program. Why McAfee 8.0 Enterprise do nothing about this? Yes! it's my false, but it could help me a little bit to prevent my computer after I open the file, doesn't it?

However, I can finally kill the virus with KasperSky and continue doing my homework from 2.30 AM until 8.00 AM in the morning! God Dammn..!! Arghhh T T

Swivel Chair

This chair is in front of the College of Fine Arts at Carnegie Mellon University. I took this picture because I think it's very nice idea. Sometimes people might want to move around in circle while they are thinking or resolving their math homework. Who knows!
